My interview with Paul is part of the Agents of Influence series we are conducting across Central WA. Please enjoy getting to know Paul a bit better, as did I, and with the hopes that his story and success will inspire and assist you as you grow and serve with us here in the center of our great state!
Paul Mares would be the last guy to take credit for the great success of his company, Premier One Properties. Perhaps that’s part of what makes the brand itself so attractive and successful. According to Paul, every one of his broker/agents and staff members deserves credit for making Premier the top real estate office in the valley. “Wayne and the others around here, they have made this place great.”
An economics major in college, Paul has always liked numbers. His interest in real estate started well before he began a career in the field. After graduating from the University of Washington, Paul supported himself working for UPS as a driver in the Seattle area. During his early adult years delivering for the Go Brown team he was also studying the real estate market. He would pick up flyers for newly listed homes and trained himself on the nuances of pricing. His interest lead him to take up course study in the residential appraisal field when he returned back home to Wenatchee in 2001.
Now if you happen to be a fan of classic 80’s rock music, you’ll make fast friends with Paul! He was the drummer for a cover band called The Young Gandhi’s back in the day. He still loves jamming with friends around town. If your band is looking for a drummer – Paul’s your guy!
Inspired by parents he admires deeply and his daughter, Laura, whom he adores like no other, Paul works hard to make a positive contribution wherever he is. At home, with Diane, at work or on the Wenatchee Association of Realtors board, Paul’s steady demeanor and attention to detail bring his leadership into appreciable light.
Sometimes, the drummer becomes the leader of the band and now is Paul’s turn. Like Don Henley (Eagles), Ringo Starr (Beatles), Roger Taylor (Queen) or the great Phil Collins, Paul now sets and supports the backbeat at Premier One, having moved from managing broker to now the Owner broker position. Paul credits Wayne Loranger and the great broker/agents in the office for creating and sustaining a generous, successful and ‘giving-back’ culture. He believes in what the firm stands for and wholeheartedly embraces an honest, intelligent and hardworking approach.
“The future is exciting for Wenatchee,” Paul believes. “The market is moving favorably and, hopefully, pricing will be staying reasonable.” Paul’s advice for folks moving to Wenatchee and looking for help on the agency side of things is pretty straight forward: listening skills – honesty – knowledge – work ethic – communication. These should be on every client’s must have list as they consider buying or selling in the greater Wenatchee valley.
I invite you to shoot Paul a quick note, text or call. Congratulate him on the successful year & he’ll deflect to the team. Great leaders do that.
Congrats on a great year and successful future, Paul. Lead on, rock star!
My team and I were wondering what the Young Gandhi Reunion Tour photo might look like…
